Police station
The new police station building in Döbeln consists of a three-story main building and a single-story garage building. Both parts of the building are surrounded by a surrounding Clinker brickwork connected - in the intermediate area is the protected police yard.
The design-determining themes are transparency and openness on the one hand, security and solidity on the other. The design tool for the theme of safety and solidity is a surrounding base made of clinker brickwork, from which the surrounding walls of the courtyard and the garage building naturally develop.
The building “floating” above is separated from the base by a circumferential glass joint. The upper floors radiate transparency and openness with offset rows of windows, and the stairwells are discreetly reflected on the facade.
